Transcriptional responses of Psittacanthus schiedeanus germinated seeds reveals novel findings of haustorium formation and its establishment into the host.

De novo transcriptome assembly and bioinformatics analyses were performed on inoculated seeds at various stages of development (from seed inoculation to haustoria formation) in order to describe changes in the de novo assembled transcriptome, gene expression profiles of experimentally inoculated seeds across time and to underline the processes of attachment and haustorial formation.
