Monitoring of Crassostrea virginica populations, Perkinsus marinus (Dermo disease) infection intensity in the Crassostrea virginica, and water quality in the Mission-Aransas Estuary, 2018-2026

Oyster reefs were sampled quarterly from 2018 to 2026 in the Mission-Aransas Estuary by dredge or quadrat to determine oyster abundances and sizes. Seven to nine reefs were sampled in each sampling event (quarter). Oysters were monitored for Perkinsus marinus (Dermo disease) infection intensity and associated water quality variables (salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity) were monitored quarterly at the time of oyster sampling from 2022 to 2026.
