Small RNA sequencing highlights potential functions of tRNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs) in regulating NLRP3 in trigeminal neuralgia

Trigeminal ganglion of rats was subjected to detect pyroptosis-related markers expression and small RNA sequencing. KEGG pathway enrichment showed that these DEtsRNAs were mainly involved in pyroptosis-related pathway, such as MAPK, ErbB, and mTOR signaling pathway. Five DEtsRNAs targeting pyroptosis-related pathways were selected for RT-qPCR validation and we found that the expression of tsRNA003489, tsRNA001840 and tsRNA003424 were consistent with RNA sequencing whereas the expression of tsRNA007679 and tsRNA009238 showed no difference. In conclusion, tsRNA has potential to participate in TN progression by targeting pyroptosis-related genes. This study provides a new perspective for understanding the pathology of TN.
