VPRS 7897 Employee Cards, Explosives Branch

This series contains cards for about 25 staff who all work for 'explosives'. Cards are all headed Chief Secretary's Department which suggests these were inherited by the Mines Department upon the function transfer of the Explosives and Gas Examining Branch from it to the Mine Dept in 1965,  No cards were amended with any details of the employees employment at the Mines Department. A card was created for each employee and record the name of employee, branch (i.e Explosives), correspondence number reference (from the Chief Secretary's inward correspondence system), job title/classification, salary, date of appointment to position, date from which pay was to apply, an Order-in-Council reference.(only if required) and remarks. Each card relates to a staff members who was assigned to the Explosives Branch in 1965. It does not contain any cards for staff who had been employed and ceased employment there prior to that year. Cards are arranged in alphabetical order by the surname of the employee. The series was originally titled Employment Authorisation Cards by a service provider.  An evaluation of the supplied documentation in 2025 amended the series title and added this series description series description.
