Although alkaline treatment has been widely employed to enhance the durability of natural fiber geotextiles, considerable uncertainty persists regarding optimal protocols for soil bioengineering applications, particularly concerning the mechanistic relationship between chemical composition and temporal reliability. This work validates a hierarchical model connecting fundamental chemical composition,specifically the lignin/cellulose ratio,to Functional Service Life (FSL) at 10% probability of failure through systematic evaluation of degradation resistance in geotextiles fabricated from *Typha domingensis* fibers subjected to graded alkaline modifications.
