Gut microbiota in human treated with Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis LKM512

The 27 adults finally eligible for this study were assigned to randomly receive an LKM512 stick (n = 17; 9 males and 8 females; average age, 47.1 years) or a placebo (n = 10; 6males and 4 females; average age, 47.1 years) from the masked quota director. Powder sticks that contained B. animalis subsp. lactis strain LKM512 were used as the active ingredient. sticks were manufactured using LKM512 powder that contained approximately 6 ?? 109 CFU/stick of LKM512 and an excipient that consisted of skim milk, glucose, inulin, dextrin, and silicon dioxide. The placebo stick consisted of the excipient without the LKM512 powder. This study was performed for 12 weeks.
