资源简介:
Introduction:The presentation of liver disease in pregnancy is varied and ranges from asymptomatic elevation of transaminases to fatal liver failure which causes significant morbidity and even mortality. Aims and Objectives:To analyse the association of clinical and biochemical parameters affecting maternal and fetal outcome in acute liver failure & acute liver injury in pregnancy. Materials & Methods-It was a prospective observational study conducted over one year involving 135 pregnant patients between19- to 40-year-old with raised liver enzymes with or without coagulopathy or altered sensorium Results: Our study demonstrates that pregnancy specific liver disorders are leading cause of abnormal liver function tests particularly in third trimester with most common cause being intra hepatic cholestasis of pregnancy and acute viral hepatitis and requires a multidisciplinary team consisting of obstetrician, neonatologist, intensivist and hepatologist as these disorders are associated with high fetal and maternal morbidity and mortality.
