Hospital water carbon footprint panel - Madrid SERMAS (2016-2024)

This repository contains the hospital-year panel dataset and the Stata replication code used to estimate the water carbon footprint (Scope 3) of twelve intermediate-complexity public hospitals in the Community of Madrid (Spain) between 2016 and 2024. The panel comprises 12 hospitals × 9 years = 108 hospital-year observations, of which 107 are valid (observation H1-2018 is missing because water consumption was not reported). The dataset enables full replication of the fixed-effects panel-data analysis presented in the article, including the comparison of three alternative water emission factor specifications: the Spanish national factor derived from AEAS/DAQUAS, the UK government factor from DESNZ/DEFRA, and a region-specific factor based on Canal de Isabel II energy intensity combined with the Spanish electricity grid factor from Red Eléctrica de España.
