Microbial metabarcoding of seawater collected from nearshore rosette deployments during the 2016 West Coast Ocean Acidification Cruise, Cape Mendocino (CA) through Johnstone Strait (BC). Physical & chemical measurements on same water samples conducted by NOAA Pacific Marine Environmental Lab (Seattle WA). Objectives include characterization of microbial communities within context of oceanographic parameters, identification of indicator taxa for ocean chemistry or geographic locations, & detection of potential pathogenic taxa for aquatic organisms.
