Challenges and enablers for effective One Health policy and integrated surveillance of antibiotic resistance in Bangladesh: topic guides for interviews and focus groups

This dataset contains semi-structured topic guides for in-depth interviews and focus group discussions conducted in Bangladesh. Guides are presented in English and Bangla language.The in-depth interviews and focus groups formed part of a wider project that aimed to understand the challenges and facilitators to implementing policy on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Bangladesh across the human, animal, plant and environmental sectors and establishing antimicrobial resistance surveillance. The project ran from July 2024 to June 2026.Interviews and focus groups were held with representatives from human, animal and environmental sector government and non-government organisations, government staff responsible for conducting AMR surveillance and a range of community stakeholders who use antibiotics for agriculture or human health, as well as national experts on AMR in Bangladesh. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 24 participants and focus group discussions with a total of 54 participants across nine focus groups. Interviews and focus-group discussions were conducted in Bangla and audio-recorded. Transcripts of interviews were translated from Bangla to English using professional translation services.
