In this study, aiming at providing the information about gut microbiota of the grasscutters, we investigated the microbiota of grasscutters and compared that to other livestock by using 16S rRNA metagenomics analysis. As one of the physiological information of the grasscutter, assessing the microbiota of grasscutters may help to determine the appropriate feed materials and feed composition for promoting domestication of grasscutters. However, grasscutters are in the process of being domesticated, and there is no data on their gut microbiota.
