Gut microbiota alternation under SARS-CoV-2 Infection

Shotgun metagenomic and/or metatranscriptomic sequencing were performed on fecal samples collected from 34 volunteers during hospitalization, including 8 community-acquired pneumonia patients, 13 COVID-19 patients, and 13 matched healthy controls. We assessed gut microbiome profiles between 3 groups in association with disease severity and changes in community structure, characteristic microbes, and functions.
