Replication Data for Cross-platform and Cross-national Agenda Setting: How Information Flows in East Asian Digital Ecosystems

OverviewThis repository contains data to replicate the figures and tables included in paper "Cross-national Agenda Setting: How Information Flows in East Asian Digital Ecosystems" by Zhang et al, 2024. The study aims to offers insights into the intricate nature of cross-platform political communication in an interconnected world. Through extensive data analysis encompassing multiple modalities, languages, and platforms within China and South Korea’s digital ecosystems, we explore the discourse surrounding Japan’s discharge of treated radioactive water.DataAll data periods span form 2022/3 - 2023/11. Chinese social media datasets: wb.tab is the whole Weibo posts data that containing the related keywords of the topic; dy.tab contains the whole Douyin short video data (converted in text) related to the topic. Korean social media datasets: korea_output_kr.csv is the original korean social media data from X (Twitter) and Tiktok; korea_output_en.csv is the translated version (in English) of the above.CodeThe topic modeling results in the original paper can be found in folder "model results".
