GT The recent discovery of nonthermal emission from the shelllikesupernova remnants SN1006 and RXJ1713.73946 has been interpreted as thefirst direct evidence of acceleration of cosmic rays in the shockfrontsof supernova remnants. We propose XMM observations of two shelllike SNRsto search for similar evidence of nonthermal emission.
