Flat roofs in the Netherlands (BAG)

This map shows for the whole of the Netherlands where the buildings with flat roofs are located. Flat roofs are important because they can serve as a green roof or a water roof. Plants on the roof retain the rainwater and therefore ensure that the sewer is less strained during a heavy rain shower. In addition, a flat roof is also suitable as a water roof. Such a roof also temporarily prevents rainwater, which reduces the strain on the sewer. Both a green roof and a water roof can also cool down.
