During 2007, remittances to LAC slowed from the double-digit annual increases of recent years because the two largest recipients in the region departed significantly from past trends - Mexico and Brazil. This paper investigates whether the slowdown is a temporary phenomenon, or the beginning of a trend which would affect the region more severely.
