Quality-controlled precipitation dataset with capped, intensity-modulated wind correction from Cerro Tres Puntas (3700 m), central Chile — v1.7
收藏资源简介:
# C3P precipitation dataset v1.7 — Cerro Tres Puntas, central ChileQuality-controlled one-minute precipitation from a weighing gauge (Siap+MicrosTPW205 / MPS-System TRwS 215, single Alter shield, unheated) at Cerro TresPuntas, subtropical Andes of central Chile (33.3194°S, 70.2330°W,≈3700 m a.s.l.), 4 June 2022 – 10 July 2026 (frozen snapshot; the stationcontinues to operate). Companion dataset to a manuscript in preparation for Earth System Science Data: "Aquality-controlled precipitation dataset with capped, intensity-modulated windcorrection from Cerro Tres Puntas (3700 m), central Chile" (Rondanelli,Fleming, Campillo & Muñoz).Precipitation is reconstructed from the raw weighing record by event-endpointdifferencing gated by an independent meteorological screen; wind undercatch istreated with a capped single-Alter transfer function with intensity-modulatedcollection-efficiency floors. Four products span a correction-sensitivityrange (no statistical coverage claimed): `precip_measured_catch` (no windcorrection), `precip_capped_alter` (capped wind-only),`precip_intensity_modulated` (**recommended**), `precip_high_correction`(sensitivity scenario). Every correction is flagged (ordinal `qc_flag` +per-condition bit mask `qc_bits`) and reversible; raw data are never modified.## Files| File | Content ||---|---|| `c3p_precip_1min_v1.7.nc` / `.csv.gz` | 1-min products, met, phase, factors, flags (2.16 M minutes) || `c3p_precip_daily_v1.7.nc` / `.csv` | daily aggregation (UTC−4 calendar days) || `c3p_precip_daily_gapfilled_v1.7.nc` / `.csv` | daily companion, gaps filled with bias-scaled, screen-gated WRF-SMN; July-2023 top-up in a separate opt-in column || `c3p_event_table.csv` | 434 events: booked/corrected totals, retention, met means, flags || `c3p_master_1min.csv.gz` | continuous master reconstruction of the raw logger record (Feb 2021 – Jul 2026, 2.86 M minutes, 73 % observed, per-minute provenance) || `sensitivity_matrix.csv` | 54-combination wind-correction sensitivity matrix || `retention_all_events.csv` | booked vs retained mass for every testable era-B event || `c3p_processing_chain_v1.7.zip` | full Python pipeline (src/00–28), data dictionary, QC notes, external reference series (Quinta Normal DMC, WRF-SMN extractions) || `c3p_instrument_documentation.zip` | installation report (2020), TRwS datasheet + user's guide, 2021 service report, service photographs (4 Aug 2023) |## Key conventions- Time base fixed UTC−4 (no DST); precipitation increments attributed to the minute ending at the timestamp.- Weight-to-depth conversion 19.3 g/mm (calibration chain in paper Sect. 2).- Era A (to 2023-08-26): mass signal is the gauge firmware register; era-A totals carry a ±5–10 % scale allowance and a one-sided reversible-load allowance (≤ ≈13 %). The July 2023 window (flag `underrecording_window`) holds lower bounds. The 2026 winter is in progress at the snapshot date.- Recommended use: `precip_intensity_modulated` for hydrological totals; exclude flag-3/5 periods from sub-daily intensity work.Raw daily logger exports are mirrored at ftp.cr2.cl (cr2andino/raw/raw_daily);this archive is authoritative.
