Distribution of insurance gross direct premium in Kenya 2020, by county

Nairobi had the highest market share in Kenya's insurance business. The value of gross direct premium in the county reached over 190 billion Kenyan shillings (KSh), around 1.7 billion U.S. dollars, in 2020. This corresponded to nearly 85 percent of the total value of insurance premiums paid in the country. Mombasa ranked second, with a market share of approximately four percent.
