NRS-17098 | Equipment Register [Moonan Brook Public School]

The equipment register was used to record the acquisition by the school, the value, and the location on school premises, of items of office or classroom equipment such as projectors, public address systems, duplicators and other movable items or replaceable installations. The volumes were printed in a standard format, with the name of the school to be entered at the top of each page, and successive columns below recording the date of acquisition, the name of the item, its value, the amount of departmental subsidy towards its acquisition, the maker's serial number, the object's location in the school, and the details (if any) of its eventual disposal. A final column was provided for remarks.The series from Moonan Brook Public School consists of a single volume, in which are recorded items valued at $6.00 and over held by the school in the mid-1960’s, or acquired between then and the time of its closure. The volume appears to have been commenced in 1966 (after February of that year, as all values are given in Decimal Currency), being written in one hand and with one pen up until that point, and all entries bearing earlier dates are therefore retrospective. The earliest such entry refers to the school’s marble Roll of Honour for the Great War, dated (year only, and perhaps conjecturally) to 1919, but all others are for items acquired in 1958 or later. Subsequent entries continue until November, 1968; the school closed in March, 1970.
