Udhruh Oral History Project Interview 1

<p>Language of transcription = Dutch, language of audio file = Arabic. Transcription is incomplete. Interview with ‘Abd Allah and Ibrahiym. The respondent ('Abd Allah) showed us his previous (cave)house, located near the village Udhruh. It was partly built with stones from the Roman Legionary Fortress. During the interviews, he told us about Bedouin life. Wars between Bedouin tribes and against the Ottomans play an important role, as well as the role of different Bedouin families and their ownership of Udhruh. He tells us about the role of water, agriculture, and the way farmers worked in the past.</p>
