资源简介:
As getting old, different medical conditions, metabolic deregulation or psychosocial determinants, may produce sleeping disturbances. Common sleep deregulations are loss of regular distribution between sleep stages, prolonged sleep latency, awaken early, and have more nighttime arousals. All these are evident in the half population at 65 years old, besides around 30% of them have chronic insomnia. The consequences can vary from increased daytime fatigue and napping to more propensity to mental or cognitive deterioration with less motivation to read. The objective determination of sleep quality through polysomnography is the precise mechanism of measurement, although self-report scales, such as the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), are common and affordable strategies widely used. The dataset describes the anthropometric, metabolic, physical activity, PSQI, and reading habit from 48 middle- to late-adulthood participants. These are valuable for examining the metabolic factors and exercise habits that influence sleep quality, cognitive status, and overall health.
