Metabotropic glutamate receptor 5 is an excitatory Gq-coupled G protein-coupled receptor predominantly expressed on the postsynaptic sites of neurons. In this study, we want to determine the high resolution structure of mGlu5, a class C GPCR, bound to a positive allosteric modulator and orthosteric agonist quisqualate.
