Carbapenem resistant Gram-negative bacilli that acquire multi-drug resistance (MDR), including resistance to carbapenems, through expression of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases and carbapenemases threaten global health. Little is known, however, about circulating antimicrobial resistance genes in CRE isolated from patients in Vietnamese hospitals and their correlation with Gram-negative bacilli that acquire phenotypes. In this study, we analyzed whole genome sequence of Acinetobacter baumannii showing resistance against carbapenems, fluoroquinolones and aminoglycosides isolated in one of the largest hospital in Vietnam
