General List of Poplar Pests in China 1981-2023

Utilize library resources and various online search channels to search for paper and electronic literature on poplar pests one by one, select pests that can cause harm to poplar trees in literature records, and obtain relevant information to establish original databases from various sources. (Mainly sourced from "Chinese Poplar Pests" (1983), "Results of the National Forestry Pest Census of China's Forestry Pests 2014-2017" [12] (2014-2017), "List of National Forestry Quarantine Pests" (2004-2013), and "List of Dangerous Forestry Pests" (2003-2013); And relevant books and compilations related to poplar pests, such as "Research on Comprehensive Control of Poplar Pests" [13] (2003), "China Forest Insects Third Edition" [14] (2021), "Forestry Pest Control Calendar" [15] (2010), "China Forest Insect List" (1981), etc; In addition, it also includes publicly published papers and reports using keywords such as "poplar diseases and pests" and "poplar pests" (1990-2023) For the collected multi-source data, refer to the most widely used global standards for biodiversity data publication and sharing, and process information aggregation, verification, correction, and format standardization. Finally, proofread the data information, delete duplicate records, and establish the China Poplar Pest List. This dataset collects and organizes information on known species of poplar pests in China, presented in an Excel spreadsheet named "1981-2023 China Poplar Pest List. xlsx". It contains 13 fields and 1674 species information of poplar pests, but lacks data information from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
