Take The Best, Dawes Rule, and compensatory decision strategies : a method for classifying individual response patterns

Behavioral decision research is confronted with the methodical problem of drawing conclusions about unobservable decision strategies from behavioral data. Although there are methods like "Structural Modeling" and "Process Tracing", these have considerable limitations. These problems are summarized briefly. A deductive, regression-based method for classifying response patterns at the individual level is introduced and evaluated. Die deskriptive Entscheidungsforschung hat das methodische Problem, aus Verhaltensdaten auf unbeobachtbare Entscheidungsstrategien schließen zu müssen. Methoden wie "Structural Modeling" und "Process Tracing" sind mit einer Reihe von Problemen behaftet, die kurz dargestellt werden.
