VPRS 15673 Register of State Wildlife Reserves

This series was created by the Fisheries and Wildlife Division of the Chief Secretary's Department VA 475, Ministry for Conservation (VA 551) and its administrative successor Department of Conservation, Forests and Lands (VA 1034).The register served as a summary / inventory record of state Wildlife Reserves. It provided detailed information about the wildlife reserves established in 1950s.P1 consignmentThe Register contains following details:- name and number of the reserve- type: Game, Nature, Faunal Reserve; State Park- reference to relevant land file number- crown allotments- area- parish- date of purchase / proposed purchase- relevant section of the Land Act- L. C. C. - Land Conservation Council Recommendations- date and details of the gazettalP2 consignment:The p2 consignment consists of registers in regards to proposed wildlife reserves and wildlife reserves located within Victoria.An index is attached to the start or each register. The register is arranged in numerical order. Each Reserve,Proposed Reserve and Sanctuary was given a number. Locate the number within the tab register to view information on the reserve or sanctuary.Information that can befound in the register include:- Name of reserve/sanctuary- Type of Reserve/sanctuary- Area (the area the reserve/sanctuary covers)- Map of the area- Wildlife that can be found in the reserve.- If hunting is permitted- If the status of the reserve or sanctuary was revoked or retianedThe p2 consignment contains the texts of notices placed in the Government Gazette regarding the designation and acquisition of these sites
