VPRS 4857 Plan For A Model National School

This series consists of a lithograph copy (T Ham, Lithographer) of a plan for a Model School by the architect to the National Schools Board ( F M White). It is uncertain whether this plan was designed as a model to be used for the building of schools throughout Victoria as a table of dimensions is given for a building to accommodate different numbers of pupils. It may also have been a plan designed primarily for the Model School established and conducted by the Board for the education of teachers.The plan has an elevation, a section and a perspective view. Accommodation consisted of separate schoolrooms for boys and girls and living quarters, presumably for the teacher. The date is approximate only, coinciding with the first full year of operation of the Board and the development of plans for the Model School for the training of teachers.
