资源简介:
Liolaemus Cristiani was described by Nuñez et al. [1] in 1991. It is endemic of the Andean Mountains, in the center area of Chile. There are records of it in the Región de O'Higgins and the Región del Maule, between the 2,000 and 2,500 meters above sea level. In this archive item, we provide multimedia records of a specimen eating a butterfly (a Vannessa Carey). These records are especially relevant because, according to Demangel [2], Liolemus Cristiani is presumed omnivorous; it has only been observed eating
shoots of plants, although the consumption of insects is likely. Thus, this record confirms the hypothesis that Liolemus Cristiani is omnivorous.
We took these records, near to Laguna de las Animas, in the first kilometer walking to the Termas del Azufre, at noon, on February 21, 2017. The exact point is around coordinates 35.484052, -70.837544 (see red mark in the attached map). As is depicted by the map, there is a small water stream from the point we take the records to Laguna las Animas. In the edges of the stream, plants and insects grow; as it is now confirmed, they serve as the Liolaemus Cristiani food.

According to Demangel [2], there are records of the Liolaemus Cristiani in the Laguna de las Animas. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no much information about its occurrences in the streams flowing into the lagoon. We can also observe other flows in the map; we presume that Liolaemus Cristiani also lives in there. An open question is if there are specimens of Liolaemus Cristiani, in additional water sources as Laguna Mondaca, around eight kilometers to the east of Laguna de las Animas; an thus, if Liolaemus Cristiani crosses to Argentina.

References

[1] H.
