Effect of anti-rotavirus vaccination on the gut microbiota

In order to assess the impact that the anti-rotavirus vaccine RotaTeq may have on the gut microbiota, this study searched for differences in bacterial composition between vaccinated and non-vaccinated children. The 16S rRNA gene was used as a molecular marker to analyze bacterial diversity in fecal samples using bioinformatic tools. No evidence of such effects was retrieved from the results.
