Astragalus was common feed additive in livestock and poultry industry in China. Gut microbiota has important role in degradation chemical compounds of Herbal medicine (HMs) and maintaining host health, improving performance and immunity. However, little information for interplay between HMs and gut microbiota is available. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate diversity of gut micorbiota of young laying hens by fed with Astragalus in conventional diet.
