BPD School Resource Officers

This is a point data set representing the schools where School Resource Officers are currently assigned. A School Resource Officer is a sworn officer with the Boise Police Department and assigned to a school or group of schools. SROs are focused on cultivating positive relationships through education and mentorship. They also lead investigations involving juvenile victims and suspects and work to divert youth away from the juvenile justice system. This data was created by the City of Boise. This data is updated as needed, based on assignment changes for SROs. It is current to the date of publication. Field Descriptions: SchoolName - Name of the school SchoolLevel - School grade level categories Elementary School - school with children in grades Kindergarten through 6 for Boise School District (BSD) or Kindergarten through 5 for West Ada School District (WASD) Middle School - School with children in grades 7-9 (BSD) or 6-8 (WASD) High School - School with children in grades 10-12 (BSD) or 9-12 (WASD) Specialty - Other schools which don’t fall neatly into one of the other categories SchoolAddress - Physical address/Location of School OfficerName - First Initial and Last Name of SRO assigned to a school.
