OBLEX F1 - Scanning Doppler lidar data

The OBLEX (Offshore Boundary Layer Experiment) scanning Doppler lidar dataset was collected on the FINO1 platform using two Windcube 100S lidar (WLS-34 and WLS-37). WLS-34 was positioned inside the meteorological tower structure and WLS-37 atop a 2.4m container on the platforms work deck. The lidars were situated approximately 20 meters above sea level. Data collection spanned from May 25, 2015, to October 5, 2016. Scanning modes included Plan Position Indicator (PPI) and Range Height Indicator (RHI). During certain periods both lidar observed in fixed mode (fixed azimuth and elevation angle). Further, the Doppler Beam Swinging (DBS) mode was employed regularily for wind profile observations, mainly by WLS-37.
