资源简介:
Background: In Ethiopia, the total fertility rate and
unmet need for family planning are high. In this country, the contraceptive prevalence
rate remains low. A routine health service provides majorly short acting
contraceptives. Long Acting Reversible Contraceptives (LARC), despite its
several advantages over short acting ones, does slimly constitute the
contraceptives coverage. Several researches showed the benefits of LARC, yet in
some countries including Ethiopia, the reasons for low use of the method is not
well understood. This study aimed at assessing factors affecting the use of LARCs
among women of reproductive years attending family planning service in health
facilities of Dessie town, North East Ethiopia.
Methodology: a facility based cross sectional study using
quantitative technique was done on 422 women at six family planning service
delivery points in Diessie Town, during the month of January,
2014. A face-to-face interview using a structured questionnaire adapted from
relevant researches has been used to generate quantitative data. Both univeraiate
and bi-variate analysis was done and OR with the respective 95 % CI is used to
show the outcome of the analysis.
