Data and code for "INTERCLAUSAL INTEGRATION AND (ANTI-)FINITENESS IN CHÁCOBO (PANO) SPEECH" in Cadernos

These are supporting materials for the paper "Interclausal integration and (anti-)finiteness in Chácobo". The paper starts from the premise that there is no category of "finiteness" which is valid from a general typological perspective and no such notion is relevant for understanding Chácobo grammar. We look for such a concept in discourse patterns under the assumption that when clauses are linked together overt TAME expression gravitates towards one clause rather than another. When this doesn't occur, that is when TAME categories do not cluster together in their expression, the pattern is called anti-finite. The general idea behind the study is that discourse patterns might form the basis for the development of a ossified structural finite vs. non-finite distinction. This is primarily a pilot study and prolegomena because there are relatively few data points and fairly simple statistical assessments are provided.
