资源简介:
Diaemus youngi is a more poorly understood vampire bat compared to the more common Desmodus rotundus. The sequencing of Diaemus youngi will contribute to the Bat1K project, which has the goal of providing public access to 1000 bat genomes, expanding the molecular dataset available to researchers who are actively working on the genomics and bioinformatics of mammalian species. This genome will also contribute to research on the historical demography and co-evolution or co-adaptation of vampire bats with humans. In addition, this data will support investigations into the origin of anticoagulant proteins, which are expressed in vampire bat saliva and used in medical research on blood thinners.
