RNA sequencing of wheat under zinc deficiency

Zinc is an essential micronutrient that supports all living organisms through regulating numerous biological processes. zinc deficiency affecting the health of approximately 17% of the global population. As one of the three major cereals, wheat is widely planted all over the world, which generally exhibits low zinc content in its grains. Increasing the zinc concentration in wheat grains plays a significant role in alleviating regionally prevalent zinc deficiency. To explore the underlying mechanisms responsible for the regulatory mechanisms controlling zinc content in wheat, we used RNA-sequencing to characterize genes expression associated with the zinc deficiency treatment based on Zhongmai 175.
