Capsicum annuum cultivar:Bullet Transcriptome or Gene expression

The Bullet cultivar of Capsicum annuum L. (Chilli) is moderately salt tolerant at the young seedling stage. At 150 mM NaCl concentration, a significant negative impact was observed in 12 days old seedlings at in vitro conditions. To detect the impact of salt stress on mRNA expression through sequence based transcriptome profiling we have conducted a series of experiments. We have performed a Petri dish experiment as a complete randomized design in 2X1 factorial two salt treatments and one chilli variety. 5 ml of the respective salt concentration was introduced to each Petri dish. The comparative analysis of transcriptomes in this study provides insights into the molecular mechanisms of salt tolerance in Bullet cultivars of chilli.
