Footwear research corpus (OpenAlex, 2009–2026) and advanced footwear technology (AFT) running-economy meta-analysis data

Data and code accompanying the manuscript "From cushioning debates to carbon plates: thematic evolution of footwear research and pooled effects of advanced footwear technology on running economy" (submitted to PLOS ONE). Contents: the screened OpenAlex corpus of footwear research 2009–2026 (17,010 harvested records with screening flags; 12,658 in the analysis corpus), theme-share outputs for the bibliometric analysis, trial-level extraction files for the systematic review of advanced footwear technology and running economy, the pooled meta-analysis data (ten contrasts; DerSimonian–Laird pooled effect −2.76%), sensitivity analyses, and the analysis code.
