A collection of ca. 50 symptomatic potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) plants of several cultivars was maintained from tubers collected from the spring harvests of 2011 and 2012 in Israel. SA480 and SA482 were from experimental plots in Even Yehuda in Central Israel collected, respectively in May 2012 and May 2011. SA481 was derived from tubers collected from commercial fields in the NW Negev region in May 2012. Plants were maintained in pots in a temperature-controlled greenhouse or growth room.For small RNA analysis, young symptomatic leaves were collected in December 2012, and pooled into three groups from which the libraries were prepared. Three potato small RNA libraries (SA480, 481 and 482) were prepared for Illumina sequencing in a single Illumina HiSeq 2000 flow cell.
