Effect of hydropeaking on decomposition in riparian zones - dataset

Dataset connected to a study on how hydropeaking affects decomposition in the riparian zones of 33 Swedish streams. All streams were affected by hydropower, but the degree of short-term regulation (hydropeaking) varied considerably, as well as stream size, latitude, and altitude. Streams were sampled in the summer of 2020 (N=26) and autumn of 2023 (N=16), with 9 streams sampled in both years. The decompisition rate (k) and the stabilization factor (decomposition endpoint, S) were estimated using the Tea Bag Index (developed by Keuskamp et al., 2013).
