Geographic codes PMSI

PMSI geographic codes are used to enhance the anonymisation of medical activity data reported by health facilities that are stored in the PMSI. This is the most accurate information that can be found on the location of a patient.
The geographic code PMSI corresponds more or less to the postal code of residence of the patient. If the postal code includes municipalities with a total of more than 1000 inhabitants, the geographical code PMSI corresponds to the postal code. Otherwise, the geographic code PMSI corresponds to an aggregated postal code.

The construction of these spatial data is based on the Datasanté database, in particular the t_geo_com table, which makes it possible to find the communal composition of the PMSI geographical codes for each vintage: https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/referentiel-geographique-t-geo-com/.

For each vintage, two types of datasets are made available: the boundaries of the PMSI geographical codes and the location of the cluster communes (municipality most populated within the PMSI geographical code).
