Data from: The dimensionality of infection networks among viruses infecting microbial eukaryotes and bacteria

This dataset contains previously published phytoplankton-virus networks newly compiled for the associated paper published in Ecology Letters, and R code for analyzing network dimensionality.11 phytoplankton-virus networks are stored as .csv files, where the rows are virus strains and the columns are host strains. Within the matrix a value of 1 indicates that the virus strain can infect the phytoplankton strain, while 0 indicates that it cannot. The csv files are named with the last name of the first author of the publication, followed by the date of publication. Full references are included in the associated publication.The R code includes three scripts. One script sorts a network in one dimension and compares the number of errors to what is expected from a null model. The second script finds the minimum dimensionality of a network (the number of dimensions that yields zero errors). The third script plots a network sorted in one dimension.
