YÛSUF, a physician of Harât, who dedicated his work to the Wazîr Ẓahîr al-dîn Muḥammad Amîr Beg. Cf. Stewart’s Catal. 116, Ivi. Printed at Calcutta, 1830.1 Begins: حمداً لعلّام اجدی ذوی الافهام تحقیق دقائق اللغات العربیة. This work was compiled from various medical books and dictionaries. Twenty of these are enumerated in the preface, amongst them works as late as the Ḳâmûs and the Ṣurâḥ. Some of the explanations are in Persian. Well written. Dated A.H. 1096. Fol. 366. The names of the weights and measures, derived from IBN SÎNÂ, اسامی الاوزان و الاکیال من شیخ الرئیس ابوعلی, and a similar list, alphabetically arranged, which is taken from the ترویح الارواح (See no. 794).
