This study investigates whether oral diseases can be identified using volatile organic compound (VOC) profiles in exhaled breath. Breath samples from 346 participants across five diagnostic groups (caries, gingivitis, periodontitis, peri-implantitis, and healthy controls) were analyzed using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and a chemiresistive electronic nose sensor array. VOCs were statistically evaluated. Multivariate statistical methods and machine-learning models were applied to determine whether disease-specific breath patterns could be distinguished. The dataset contains VOC measurements, sensor array responses, and associated diagnostic labels used to evaluate the feasibility of noninvasive breath-based detection of common oral diseases.
