Hierarchical Porous Electrodes with Tailored Anisotropic Structure

This dataset contains COMSOL® files with results of numerical simulations of hierarchical porous electrodes. We considered four model electrodes with a columnar structure of the active material with interleaved electrolyte channels. The results show that engineered porosity electrodes facilitate higher mass loading than random porosity electrodes and can maintain areal capacity and specific energy at higher discharge rates. The results can guide fabrication of hierarchical porous electrodes, for example, by freeze tape casting.
