Replication data for: The Power of Lakshmi: Monetary Incentives for Raising a Girl

We evaluate the Dhanlakshmi scheme, an Indian cash transfer program that strongly encouraged couples to bear girls and raise them. We use data from the DLHS household survey rounds 2007-08 and 2012-13 within a difference-in-difference framework to estimate the program effects on the sex ratio at birth. We verify our results using population estimates from the Census rounds of 2001 and 2011. We also study the scheme's impact on girls' post-birth outcomes of immunization and school attendance.
