Quantification of soil organic carbon stocks in Nepal's forests

The spatial data included in this dataset consist of a raster layer of predicted forest soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks covering Nepal, accompanied by the corresponding prediction uncertainty raster. Both layers are provided as GeoTIFF rasters, with a spatial resolution of 30 meters and based on the ESPG:32644 spatial reference system. This dataset aims to serve as a benchmark SOC estimates for the Central Himalayas, one of the largest elevational gradients on Earth. A predictive model informed by a range of environmental controls and national-scale plot-based estimates of SOC was used. This dataset supplements a paper submitted to the Scientific Reports journal, which provides detailed description on the input datasets and modelling approach used to derive these spatial dataset.
