Dynamics signature of polyamorphic transition and single-crystal crystallization in Ce-Al metallic glass under high pressure

We propose to study the atomic relaxation dynamics of the Ce-Al MGs during both compression and decompression from ambient pressure through the polyamorphic transition and eventually close-to-crystallization pressure (~25 GPa) at room temperature. These results will provide critical dynamic information for us to understand the transition process and underlying mechanism for the unusual phenomena in Ce-Al MGs and also the relationship between dynamics and structures of glasses in general.
