Our study intended to identify transposon mutants of Mycobacterium avium subsp. hominissuis (MAH) which are hypersusceptible to antibiotics used to treat human infections with this organism. Identification of these gene disruptions may be useful for designing new antibiotics against MAH and in understanding the bacterial persistence phenomenon.
