资源简介:
In order to investigate the attraction of pollinators to the color range of yellow, orange and red an experiment was designed using 60 pan traps. Ten of each colour pantraps were laid out alternating in colour from yellow, orange, and red. This was done in both grassland and woodland region, 30 in each area. The pan traps remained in the areas for a total of three hours. The time was recorded for when the pan traps were finished being laid out and the time the experimenters began collecting data. Also data was recorded reporting the colour, the number of total insects in each pan trap, the taxonomic name of the insects, and number of insects in each taxomonic group. The results were used to observe the correlation between abundance insect pollinators and possible varying degrees of attraction to yellow, red and orange flowers. Furthermore comparing the effect of location (of woodland and grassland regions) on the abundance of insect taxonomic groups present as well as the effect of location on any possible trend indicating a colour preference of pollinators.
